Production Internship

Marketing & Development Internship

PRODUCTION INTERNSHIP

As a Production Intern, you will help organize events associated Hotel Elefant’s 2016-17 Season. Reporting to the Directors, you will provide both production and administrative support.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Coordinating and disseminating all production information; coordinating the distribution of artist technical packages to venues; distributing artist’s technical information to lighting and sound supervisors and venue production managers, distributing and maintaining production calendars, and tracking the distribution of all of the above information.
  • Arranging accommodations, transportation, and hospitality services for ensemble and guest artists as needed.
  • Managing the rehearsal schedule and reserving rehearsal space for the ensemble Maintaining each program’s daily schedule. Updating as new information arrives and/or as directed.
  • Researching vendor pricing on production-related equipment rentals and purchases.
  • Arranging for various production-related rentals and arranging timely and accurate returns of same.
  • Tracking all production expenditures, including petty cash, invoices, etc. Providing administrative support to the Executive and Artistic Directors, including phone coverage, database and file maintenance, minutes at meetings, etc.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; professional phone manner Strong computer skills and proficiency in Word, Excel, Google Drive, and database programs
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail, with an ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Must exhibit excellent judgement and flexibility
  • Knowledge of classical music and the performing arts; must be able to read music
  • At least two years of experience in the field or a related business Bachelor’s degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience

    INTERNSHIP DETAILS:
  • Hours Required will be flexible with school and production demands (approximately 5–10 hours per week)
  • Internship will be unpaid but school credit is possible. Free ticket to Hotel Elefant shows and access to private rehearsals, recording sessions and interviews are offered as to provide an educational outlook to the inner workings of the organization.

MARKETING & DEVELOPMENT INTERNSHIP

Hotel Elefant is looking for a dynamic, savvy intern to engage with audiences online and enhance our presence. As a Marketing & Development Intern, you will engage with audiences online to enhance our presence, and assist in grantwriting, fundraising, and cultivating donor relationships.

SOCIAL MEDIA FOCUS INCLUDES:

  • Assist with social media engagement by helping manage Hotel Elefant’s social channels
  • Drafting and editing copy for social channels
  • Monitoring social media web analytics on a weekly basis (e.g. page views, twitter followers), and provide reports of growth and other activity.

DEVELOPMENT FOCUS INCLUDES:

  • Conduct preliminary research on prospective corporate foundation & individual donors;
  • Responsible for helping with proposal writing and grant compilation
  • Draft profiles for prospective Individual and Foundation donors
  • Help maintain, track, and update grants calendar
  • General responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Researching industry-specific sites (blogs, forums, etc) for new ideas and relevant information; Maintaining marketing and development program files.

INTERNSHIP REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge and experience with Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and other social media platforms
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of Photoshop, InDesign, and video editing software
  • At least two years of experience in the field or a related business
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
